The Flirty Review: Five Lip Bites
So I love me some Angel Lawson. I have read one other short story from her and Wraith, (cough, her fanfictions, cough) and adore her storytelling. She's very imaginative and her show is amazing. You can easily lose yourself in her books. That's an amazing task for a writer. So when I got a chance to read this short, Forced Landing, I was all in.
Forced Landing tells the story between two perspectives. Nadya is a twenty-year-old kind of Goth chick is is lost and stuck in her life. She's lost in the aspect that she's seeking more and stuck meaning that she doesn't think that finding more is really an option. She works for her family's airport, a small airport that works with a lot of commuter and private planes. Her mother is passed and her father is overprotective. Her only friends are the people who work at the airport and her life has pretty much centered around the place. But she's accepted the fact she's not leaving anytime soon. Doesn't mean she's not curious about a series and very elusive pilot named Liam.
So this is where I started to perk up and it wasn't because I was getting into a hot, steamy airport romance. Nuh-uh. Nope, Lawson turned it into a fantasy romance. Well, definitely fantasy but the romance was light. No sex scenes or anything, but some smoking sexual tension. Anyhooo...
Without giving away the whole twist I loved about the story, I'll just say that what Lawson wrote here in Forced Landing was only the tip of the iceberg on what she could totally turn into a outstanding series. (If she wanted, that is). There is action, romance, fantasy, mystery, intrigue...all of it. I want to know more about Nadya's family, her history, Liam and his past, more about the bond, AHHHHH!
Let's just say when I was done reading this last night, I screamed because I was mad it was over. If that got my interest that much, that's saying something.
Frequent Flyers is on sale now for only $.99!!
