Summary: What if you would never remember the day you made the most important decision of your life?
That’s what they’re telling me about the day of my accident—the day I put on Max’s ring and chose him over Nate. I’m counting on the wisdom behind a decision I don’t remember making.
Max is amazing—sexy, sweet, and kind. I was starting to believe happily-ever-after might be in my future after all. Then the unthinkable happened and my world imploded. If I’m going to make this work with Max, I need my missing memories, or at least answers from about those five days before my accident.
But what does my future hold if those answers aren’t anything like I imagined?
Flirty Review: Four Lip Bites
What Lexi Ryan did that is so hard for many series authors is that she kept you guessing. In book one, it was obvious that Hanna was going to end up with Nate, but then she didn't. Then in book two it was obvious she was going to end up with Max, but then again, it was still up in the air by the end of the book. You can see my reviews for book one and two HERE. I had an idea of who I wanted for Hanna but Ryan was always throwing curveballs to her characters that I was as confused and mixed-up as Hanna about the two male leads. I really wanted her for Max but Nate was equally as yummy.
I will say that after reading the third book, the one thing that was predictable was that I figured out who done it in book one. I won't let the cat of the bag, and I'm sure many readers didn't see the real antagonist right away, but I did and that took the wind out of my sails a little bit. But that didn't tear me away from the book whatsoever. I really enjoyed this story. It was a fresh twist on a age-old plot. It's so hard to come up with new twists these days when everything has been done and then copied or redone and so forth. What Ryan did was kept me entertained and interested and that's probably one of the biggest things an author can do for her readers and for her sales.
I will say that I would have loved Hanna to end up with the "other" guy. (No spoilers) What happened at the end seemed to wrapped up in a pretty bow. Just like I said at the beginning about book threes and trilogies, but it wasn't in a way that lead the readers on.
What I didn't really love: There were so many elements, plot twists, side-stories that I had to keep up with. It got confusing and I forgot a lot of detail from book to book. I had to really concentrate at times to remember what happened in book one or two.
I know that these characters and the world started in another series by Ryan called the New Hope series. I wished I read those first. But not becasue I couldn't follow this series, more so becasue I wanted to understand the characters more.
There are so many good things about this series: it's fresh, it's complicated, it's sexy, it's real, it's heartfelt, it's a true love story. But if you hate love triangles, it's not for you. Just saying.
