Her post today is to answer some questions that many readers wonder when reading their favorite authors: What inspirations for your characters do you use while writing? Celebrity pictures, personal friends, etc. Do you outline your characters traits and tweak them while writing?
Sarah says: All my characters came to me before I ever saw a picture of them anywhere. They kind of appeared and I described them and about a quarter of the way in, I started trying to find pictures of the people I saw in my head. I also knew starting out that my friend would be taking the pictures for the cover, so I would have to find people that looked like Charlie and Jhett. That’s when one of my friends, Cathleen, randomly popped into my head, and I was like, “Why did I not think of her before!?” Seriously, from that point on, I pictured her as Charlie in my head. She even unintentionally ended up having some of her personality traits, too. It was pretty funny. Here’s a picture of me (with the pink hair) and my lovely Charlie inspiration.
